Tournament Overview
- The President's Cup is a match play tournament that runs throughout the season.
- Participants are flighted by handicap - 64 players signed up so the low 16 handicaps were assigned to Flight 1, the next 16 to Flight 2, etc. Players within each bracket were randomly assigned bracket positions.
- You must contact your assigned opponent to arrange to play your match within the timeframe noted on the brackets. PLEASE stay on schedule!
- Prizes will be awarded to the winner of each flight and flight winners then play each other to determine an overall winner.
Rules for Matches
- This is a Match Play tournament. Matches are played at full handicap using the current handicaps on the day of the match. The player with the lower handicap gives the higher handicap player the difference in their handicaps.
- For example, if your handicap is 17 and your opponent is 20 then you give them one stroke on the three most difficult holes. So in this case, you give them a stroke on #5, #12, and #1 (the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd handicap holes).
- In the event of a tie after 18 holes, proceed to Hole #1 for a Sudden Death playoff. Handicap strokes fall on the same holes and play continues until a winner is determined.
- Write match results on the bracket sheets in the locker room and winners should call their next opponent immediately to arrange the next match.
